On October 28, «The Forum», the new documentary by Marcus Vetter, will open the 62nd edition of DOK Leipzig. The film will be screened as part of the international competition.

The film tells from the internal perspective of the World Economic Forum the struggle between global business leaders and national politicians to solve the world’s most urgent problems. Can the WEF, as a platform, help to shape a better future for our planet, or is it just the perfect cover for businesses to lobby their own agendas?

The project is a co-production with gebrueder beetz filmproduktion, Filmperspektive, SWR, BR, HR, SRF, SRG SSR and VPRO and was supported by Creative Europe MEDIA, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, M.F.G. Filmförderung, Zürcher Filmstiftung and the Swiss Federal Office of Culture.

Additionaly, the film will have it's cinematic premiere at the Urania in Berlin on November 4th.

We are pleased to announce the world premiere of Samir's new feature film «Baghdad in my Shadow», which will be shown as part of the 72nd Locarno International Film Festival.
Following the first screening, the cast and crew will be available for a Q&A.

This year we will be celebrating two premieres at the 72nd Locarno Film Festival:

David Vogel's documentary «Shalom Allah» also celebrates its world premiere in Locarno. The film will be shown as part of the Semaine de la Critique and follows the spiritual journey of Johan, Aïsha, and the Lo Manto family, who convert to Islam.

The following screenings take place in Locarno:

Second screening: Monday, August 12 - 19:00 - Cinema L'altra Sala

On August 8, the first scenes of the drama «Of Fish and Men» have been shot. In the leading roles, Sarah Spale and Matthias Britschgi are to be seen. Sarah Hostettler, Julian Köchlin and Lia Wagner will also perform in front of the camera. The film will be shot over the next two months in the Bernese Jura. Stefanie Klemm is responsible for the script and direction; Kacper Czubak is the DOP.

The film is supported by the Berne Film Fund, the Federal Office of Culture, the Zurich Film Foundation, Swiss Radio and Television SRF, the Berne Burgergemeinde, Swisscom and Suissimage.

On July 9th the shooting of «Hungry Saints» by Marc Wilkins was finished. With an international cast and crew it was filmed first in New York City and afterwards in La Oroya in the Peruvian Andes.
We thank the cast and crew for the excellent work and are now looking forward to the post-production of the film.
